SolSource Overview

SolSource was founded in 2004 by solar industry veteran Jeff Scott and a team of solar professionals, who created a company that has grown to be one of Colorado's most successful solar design and installation firms. Our experience covers institutional projects, commercial, businesses, government installations, schools, and residential installations. For each project, we design a unique solution, staying conscious of budget, system maintenance requirements, government regulations, environmental issues, and building aesthetics.

We are one of the only engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) solar companies that offer a wide range of expertise in both the institutional and residential arenas, including educational training and consulting services. We bring the knowledge we've gained in 25 years in the solar industry. SolSource provides a comprehensive source of products and technical integration to engineer and install complete solar electric, solar thermal hot water, and air heating systems with a 10-year warranty on all SolSource solar systems. We are committed to making a difference in our local community and create partnerships and provide guidance and training to non-profits, elected officials, schools and utilities.

SolSource Energy Solutions, LLC provides design, engineering and installation services geared to the specific needs of commercial, institutional and residential clients. We also offer consulting and training in a variety of areas for architects, builders, developers, government managers, military facilities, and homeowners.

Residential

SolSource Energy Solutions, LLC, brings the experience of having designed and installed over 500 solar electric and solar thermal systems in Colorado. We understand that every home is unique and we develop solar solutions that meet your specific needs and situation. SolSource offers free solar site evaluations with preliminary designs and system pricing.

When you choose SolSource Energy Solutions, LLC to install your solar energy system our licensed professional engineers and master electricians ensure that your system meets all local and national requirements. We connect your solar system with the utility grid and our systems come complete with a 10-year service contract, a 10-year warranty on inverters, a 25-year warranty on panel performance, and a comprehensive owner’s manual.

With the availability of utility rebates and state and federal financial incentives, solar energy has become increasingly cost-effective. Currently, purchases of solar electric and solar thermal systems are 60 to 70 percent reduced. Our rebate manager handles the paperwork connected with residential rebates and we can provide financial assistance by "floating" solar rebates to reduce your out-of-pocket expenses

SolSource Energy Solutions has a seasoned track record in designing and installing large and complex solar electric and solar thermal systems for commercial, institutional, educational, and military projects. Once we determine our client’s needs we offer product solutions from proven suppliers.  Our product manages and installers are all manufacturer-trained technicians and OSHA certified.

Our relationship with leading solar manufacturers helps ensure product availability within client time frames. We support manufacturers warranties on our products, including 20-25 years on solar panel performance, 10-15 years on inverters, and a 10-year service contract. We also offer professional training on our products.

SolSource Energy Solutions assures client satisfaction by dedicating a project manager to each installation who supervises the design, engineering and commissioning of your system. We own a fleet of trucks, earth moving equipment and specialized tools necessary to complete any scale installation. Manufacturers we work with include:

• Solar Modules - SolarWorld, Sharp, SunTech, Sanyo, and UniSolar.
• Inverters - SMA, Fronius, Solectria, and Advanced Energy.
• Online Data Monitoring - Fat Spaniel, SMA, Fronius, SolrenView, and Energy Recommerce.
• Racking Systems - Sunlink, Prosolar, Schletter, plus we design custom engineered racking systems.
• Solar Thermal Products - EnerWorks, SolarSkies and the SolarWall product line.

SolSource Training

Consistent with our mission to support renewable energy and high-performance building products, SolSource regularly leads training sessions for professional and public audiences. Jeff Scott, founder and president of SolSource, served as the 2008 president of the Colorado Renewable Energy Society and is an active solar energy educator and presenter in Colorado. Our training programs take place in both office classroom-style seminars and in the field with hands-on experience on products, technologies and systems that are being installed on their building. SolSource trainings help participants gain a full understanding of essential design, installation, performance issues, and help our clients understand the comparative economic benefits and return on investment for each product and system.

As an authorized manufacturers' representative for various product lines, SolSource offers professional training sessions for contractors, builders and architects interested in learning more about green building materials. These sessions focus on a product's specific residential and/or commercial application, technical specifications, installation methods and energy saving benefits. SolSource also offers classes to architectural and contracting firms on how PV and other solar technologies can be aesthetically integrated into new construction projects such as solar awnings, facades or roof-mounted systems.

Consulting

For developers, builders, and architects considering renewable energy for new construction or remodels, SolSource offers comprehensive consulting services covering project engineering, design, energy modeling analysis, installation, monitoring, and system maintenance.

As a leading provider and installer of innovative green building and clean energy solutions, SolSource appreciates the challenges a client faces in sorting through the myriad of options available. In the pre-construction phase of a project, SolSource helps development and design professionals and homeowners weigh the economic and energy-savings benefits of specific products and technologies. By working closely with our professional and residential clients, SolSource provides a well-conceived design program in advance of ground breaking on commercial, institutional and residential installations.

Economics of Solar

With the availability of utility rebates and state and Federal financial incentives, solar energy has become increasingly cost-effective with a typical ROI of five to seven years.  The State of Colorado and Federal government both offer tax credits to cover a portion of the purchase of solar electric and solar thermal systems.

For homeowners, SolSource offers a complete financing package for solar PV and domestic hot water systems through several commercial banks.  You can choose to roll the cost of your solar energy system into your mortgage (or re-finance) or take out a low-interest loan.  Utility rebates through Xcel, Blackhills, Colorado Springs Utility (CSU) can buy down the cost of your system by up to 50 percent.  SolSource helps to simplify the process of securing your solar electric or solar thermal system by handling all the required paperwork to process the rebate.  If needed we can "float" the rebate, which reduces your out-of-pocket expenses.

For commercial, municipal or Federal government projects, SolSource can provide turnkey financing though a Power Purchase Agreement which can provide financial advantages for our clients. Our goal is to support your decision to go solar every step along the way - simplifying the financing process and helping our clients access all available tax credits and rebates.
